Spring Football Conditioning

Christian Life Academy inviting all students that will be in 9th – 12th grade next year to come out and participate. We are casting a large net so we can promote varsity boys football across San Diego County and get as many homeschoolers playing this sport under the umbrella of Christ. While we are casting a large net, we are also emphasizing commitment to train consistently. We will be measuring improvement throughout the next few months and into the season. Consistency is the only way to get better.
The CLA spring football program will begin on MON 04, APR 2016 with two locations to choose from on multiple days of each week.
The training will consist of weights and agility training focusing on building muscle to reduce injury for the upcoming season.

Training with Coach Luce and Vava

Players will need workout clothes, tennis shoes (no cleats), water, a snack for after practice, full fingered gloves (optional), and a good attitude. Shorts and t-shirts are recommended.

Along with the training schedule we ask that each parent assist the coaches with modifying the players nutritional intake. the short version is: No junk food, no sugar, no soda, high protein, high carb, and heavy hydration.

Working your neck and abs is crucial for minimizing injuries this season. They allow you to strengthen the key muscles that have shown to significantly reduce concussion and spinal injuries with full contact sports. Alice (our AT) says, neck strengthening can limit the amount of jostling to the brain during tackles and falls (the muscles in the neck can slow the deceleration of the head, and thereby the brain).
